WELCOME TO NEW HOPE
UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke and easy and my burden is light. —Matthew 11:28-30

Welcome to the official site of New Hope United Methodist Church!

We are located on the corner of Church Street and South Broad Street in Penns Grove, New Jersey, right along the Delaware River. From our backyard, you can see the city of Wilmington. About a mile from the church is I-295, from which you can access the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

Our church has been a welcoming source of faith, hope, and prayer for Penns Grove, Carneys Point, and the surrounding area since 1845. Originally, our church was formed under the name of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. In April 2017, Emmanuel merged with St. Paul’s to become New Hope United Methodist Church.

Our church is surrounded on three sides by a cemetery that has been the resting place for the faithful since the early nineteenth century. The church campus includes a parsonage and Wesley Hall, which is used to host concerts, birthdays, and other events. It also houses our Sunday School rooms, meeting rooms, church offices, kitchen, stage, and a social hall.

Our current active ministries include the emergency food pantry, the missions of the United Women in Faith group, and raising funds for the local fire and rescue companies, volunteer E.M.T.s, and Ambulance Association. It's very important that we support the many international missions of the United Methodist Church, and welcome all who need rest and replenishment through God’s word and prayer. Please see the "Ministries" and "Outreach Ministries" tabs for more information.

MISSION STATEMENT

COME AND SEE to all who are in distress and need comfort; to all who are weary and need rest; to all who are friendless and desire friendship; to all who believe in God and wish to worship; to all who hunger for prayers and wish to pray; to all who know sin and need a Savior. We welcome you with open arms! We welcome you to the worship and fellowship of this church. We are in this community to serve God through Jesus Christ, to minister and not be ministered unto. To all who are convinced they ought to put first things first, this church opens its doors in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and for His sake, we say, WELCOME!
